This exciting 3-Day Gorilla Trekking trip in Volcanoes National Park offers a short but unforgettable adventure. Based near Musanze, you’ll trek with expert guides, spot rare primates, and soak in the park’s lush beauty.
Your journey starts with a morning pickup from your Kigali hotel or airport around 7 AM. Enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive through rolling hills and tea plantations to the park’s base in Kinigi. Check into the Lodge, a cozy spot with mountain views, warm fireplaces, and friendly service. Relax after lunch, take a short walk, or visit nearby villages.

Rise early for breakfast, then head to the park headquarters by 7 AM for a briefing. Trek into the bamboo forests with a skilled ranger—hikes last 2-7 hours depending on gorilla location. Spend one magical hour observing a family group (up to 8 people per group). Return for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, choose the optional Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village tour: dance with Intore performers, learn about Rwanda’s history, and see traditional crafts.
